Hi

I have the Panasonic dmr-xw380. I am playing around with the DNLA option for fun. The network is am using is Wireless G which doesn't seem to be able to stream HR recorded programs fast enough to stop stuttering. I assumed a simple solution would be to simply record programs in a lower resolution to reduce the stress on the network. How hard can that be I thought. I grabbed the remote and failed. I read the manual and failed. Does anybody know how to set lower resolution recording on the dmr-xw380?

You dont, the resolution is set by the broadcaster, there is no encoding going on in the unit to set the parameters of any digital recorder like that.

This would seem to indicate that you can change the quality of the recording. It has to have a method of converting them as it will not write HD content to the dvd player. It downscales before writing.
