Hi all,
Is anyone putting this card slot to good purpose here in NZ?

Cheers!

Nope. I tried a certain type of Aussie card and it didn't work at all, despite it working in other similar type boxes.

Good point, hadn't even considered a software upgrade to this box.
Will go and hunt out what one I have installed.

Cheers.

Any hints on where you'd get an irdeto & and what content it fetches?

Tried this over the weekend and the unit does indeed now pick up the card.

However in my case the Australian card did not appear to be a valid/activated card.
- Mildly frustrating! It could read it/detect it fine, but it said it wasn't registered/setup for any abilities.
It was a full white card, no writing on it at all, just wall white with the gold electronics square bit you'd expect.

I take it this slot is still not suitable for use with a valid SKY card?

Correct - it will not enable access to SKY.

Still don't know what it can be used to receive.

Eh .... given the recent sad demise of SBS, I'm keener than ever to explore the opportunities, if any, afforded by this card slot.

So ..... HELP ....... !!!
