Can anyone suggest a few good/cheap (max $100 maybe) TV tuners I can get for my laptop (my laptop http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4764 ). I want one that will allow me to watch freeview in HD and able to record shows too if possible. On the freeview site it says "likely with high aerial" so should I also get a better aerial too for the usb tv tuner or just us the one that comes with it?

You will almost certainly need a proper outdoor aerial that is mounted on your roof. A little indoor aerial will only ever be useful in a very high signal strength area.

The next thing for you to consider is - does your laptop have graphics good enough to display the Freeview|HD broadcasts? In other words will your laptop graphics support hardware accelleration for H.264 video?

In a laptop that will actually be the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670, which is confusingly different to the desktop ATI Radeon HD 4670. The laptop version apparently has a slower chip and memory clock, but importantly the specs say it supports full bitstream decoding of H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and VC-1 streams. So yes it should be OK for Freeview|HD.
