Hi all. I have searched far and wide to see if Openbox S10/11 supports .MKV files as my current satellite PVR receiver wont.
Does anyone have further information about Openbox? EG what does it offer over and above other satellite boxes.
Preferably a full specification if possible I cant find it anywhere even trying both Bling and Google.
Thanks vm.
Alistair

Just tested a couple of divx files on my Openbox S10 and it doesnt play them, I get 'Video codec not supported'. The sound plays but no video ... probably mkv's will be the same.

Hi thanks. It must be the variations of cpu/ALI chip as some users report being able to play .mkv files and all .avi container files providing they are recoded complimentary to the Openbox.

Perhaps others can add to this thread?

Does it maybe require you to have a MKV unwrapper codec installed?

Openbox sounds like a great concept as it uses Linux as its O/S. However, when you do an Openbox forum search, there is very limited information that I have found. So whether the device lets you update codecs and drivers like eg ubuntu or puppy linux is an unknown.
Thanks,
Al.
