Help plz! We juz moved to this "old" new house where I plug LG tv (with free view built in) and only got 8 channels. Can't get prime, CTV8, and other Chinese channel, is it because the antenna is too old? Any help will be appreciated!

The aerial and/or cabling is likely the be the cause.

Agree. The problem is almost certainly reception issues caused by aerial and or cabling problems.

The most likely explanation is aerial and/or cable, but

What part of the country are you located in?
Is the new house far from the old house where you could receive Prime etc OK?
Do you know which transmitter your aerial points at?
Can you receive any other channels (Maori TV for example) fom the Kordia mux?

Get your TV or Freeview box to rescan the channels.

I am in hills borough , just one street away from my previous address which the same tv works fine there. The new address is a 50s old house and cabling looks messy downstairs. Can get 8 digital tv channels like tv one , tv two, tv 3 plus, c4, etc can't get prime, maori, ctv, and other Chinese channels

The Kordia mux that carries Prime and the Chinese channels on it runs at a higher frequency which makes it more vulnerable to a poor signal. It is likely either the cabling or aerial needs replacing, or the aerial might just need repositioning.

Thanks for all the advices. Here is what I am propose to do, plz advise if it is appropriate:

1: the aerial is not too high which I can easily reach it from my deck, I am going to use the new cable and replace the existing one plug into the antenna and try on my tv,

2: if one doesn't work, will try reposition it and see if that's working

3: if both not working, then would have to replace the aerial

Very often cables between the aerial and the wall socket are RG59 instead of RG6 and may have joins/splitters etc along the way. Ideally, as has been mentioned above, you'd want to confirm it is RG6 and a straight run right from the aerial to your TV. If it's not, then replace it all.

Also if it's a none F connector aerial then take the time to check the connections at the aerial are clean from corrosion and if needs be give them a light sand and strip back the cable 4cm or so and re terminate with nice clean wire connections.

Make sure there are no joins or left over amplifier components that now aren't being powered etc.

Check also the same at the TV end, not sure if your setup runs to a wall plate or is a lead sticking out of the wall? Either way make sure the connections are ok and there are no stray wire strands touching places they shouldn't be etc.

General check and clean up maintenance stuff. The aerial catches the faint signal and the cable protects and delivers it into the TV. If anything is not ship shape along the way you'll have issues.
