Hi folks,

I recently purchased a Hauppage HVR-2210 dual DVB-T pci-e TV Tuner.
I am using:

Mediaportal 1.2.2
EPG Collector, latest version
The XMLTV plugin for Mediaportal TV Server.

I can get the EPG no problem through EPG Collector, no errors there.
The problem is, I get limited data in my TV Guide in Mediaportal. Its pretty random.
Example, one day I'll have 9 out of 15 channels display data, the next day I'll have only 2 channels displaying data, and so on.
I'm getting my current signal off the Infill transmitter in Auckland. In EPG Collector, I'm collecting data via EIT.

Has anyone come across this before, what could be wrong here?

So you're using the XMLTV plugin, and you're sure that the data from EPG Collector is complete?

Note: there are four SI sets for each TVNZ channel, but only one will actually have EPG data in your region.

DVB-T doesn't transmit an EIT EPG, so that's probably the cause of your issue. You need to use MHEG5.

Thank you, changing to MHEG5 fixed it. Weird that it still collected some data on EIT though. Cheers.

DVB-T carries now/next EIT info.

I use mythTV on linux with the HVR-2210, so my situation is a little different.

However, from a general perspective, if you only have 1-2 days' of EPG data it means you're not getting any of the EIT data correctly inserted. It's an all-or-nothing situation - and you're getting nothing.

Hopefully someone with mediaportal will sign in (I can't remember how - I did have mediaportal working 100% with the EPG data properly inserted on Win 7 last year, before chucking it for mythTV).

It was probably MediaPortals native EPG grabber collecting some of the guide data, in other words EPG collector was not actually doing anything.

It would pay to disable epg grabbing on the card in mediaportal too.
