I asked a few months ago and didnt get a reply but worth a shot again.. Has anyone in Marlborough (Blenheim preferably) tried to receive the test signal from Kaukau? Im interested to hear the results. I dont have the gear to test, but are keen to purchase it, if i was going to get a decent signal.. (no sign of blenheim on freeviews rollout plan Cry )

So you would think.. However we quite easily get prime/maori tv as it is from what i assume is wellington (as it has north island adverts, as far as i know blenheim dosn't have a uhf repeater???) We also recieve a few wellington radio stations such as zm, easyfm.
So i was thinking that it must be feasible as from what i read some where digital has a greater range than analouge..

Edit:
And as this article states we can probably tune into wellingtons triangle tv broadcast from blenheim (not that i have tried or want too!) link
Quote: "Though based on Triangle Television's eight-year success broadcasting to the Greater Auckland region, the programme selection has been fine-tuned for Wellington's uniquely broad-based viewership. Viewers in Blenheim and Marlborough may also be able to tune in."

So uhf signals are definetly travelling across from wellington soooo back to my original question Smile

If you are getting Prime from Wellington, i'd say go for it. Even if you can just borrow someones tuner and use the free dvbviewer channel scanner, to see if it will indeed work.

What channel is Prime on for you,

http://www.primetv.co.nz/popup_map.html

I am not sure if prime have regional ad break outs , so you might be getting it from Nelson,

If you can see what channel it is on, this will tell you where it is from :)

Stupid question, I'm not really a techie, but I've just purchased a Hauppage HVR-900 USB, how come you don't use the software that is packaged with it?

I've done a scan using a United Kingdom base and found 2 aerial channels  + 2 digital channels, RNZ National and RNZ Concert. I'm planning on following the summary in the first post, but just did a scan first to see what was there and was wondering why that is the case...

The HVR-900 only comes with software that support MPEG-2 and won't work with our local combination of H.264 and HE-AAC.

I was looking at getting an HVR-900. Will this work with the right software?

Ie. I have the test loops working with CL PowerDVD 7 (Or whatever it's called) and DVBViewer, will this software, plus a HVR-900 allow me to get DVB-T?

Hi guys first post.

I have DVB Viewer installed, PowerDVD Ultra installed and a onboard ATI 1250 chipset that supports h.264, the CPU is a Duel core AMD 4400.

I have just edited my post as I now have all the test vids working in PowerDVD so im guessing my system should be go to go with HD Freeview

But

DVB Viewer will not play any of the HD Freeview channels they are just jerky and skipping frames, I have set the h.264 codec in the directX options to the Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder, what am i missing here.
