Grant, many thanks, just the info im looking for.
I wander how this stacks against the ultraplus?

Re your question on previously aired programs :from the Tivo user manual "Recording Options include:
Show Type.: Skip reruns or watch them all? Choose from Repeats & First Run, First Run Only, or All (With Duplicates)."
this is a very cool option , for example i was recording city homocide, which ended, and they started reruns. The reruns wern't recorded. But the next season did, at a different time slot, no intervention from me.
anyway this is not a plug for tivo post, you did ask :)

The shop that is bringing them in: www.freeviewshop.co.nz/

xarqi: Easy enough. You've seen the following the Vu+ Duo has overseas, and indeed here. Contrast that with the global popularity and support for anything with "Ultraplus" on it.

The problem is ultraplus is just a NZ name, i gather it goes under something else, overseas? ,correct me if im wrong.
And the best people that can answer this question are those that have used both, preferably not a salesman :)

Indeed I did ask :)

That's a very cool option I have not seen elsewhere.  For a satellite receiver, it would only be possible to do this if the EIT EPG contains the (R) repeat information which is in the TV Guide.  After a quick scan through the various channels, it seems that PRIME is one of the few channels that are in the habit of routinely tagging repeat episodes with (R).  Others such as TV3 give a suffix like S1 Ep19, which gives you a clue that it has been screened previously, without explicitly saying so.  I wonder how Tivo would cope with that?

Interesting to know that.  The previous importer was Satlink, and I noticed a fair few Satlink receivers listed on Freeviewshop's website, but no mention of the Vu+.  I guess it will appear when they have stock.
