Large obnoxious channel logos encourage people to pirate or buy the Blu-ray instead. People don't always have to accept their viewing being ruined by a huge ONE, PRIME, MAORI or FOUR.

There must be some way of muffling the channel logos on a HTPC. I think VLC supports doing that with a transparency file.
