If you managed to tune Maori TV then you must be receiving Prime as its on the same mux, same frequency, just different channel.
From your comments it sounds as though you are tuning analogue and not digital though in which case Prime would be on a different frequency.
Confirm you are scanning with the STB digital tuner and not tuning your TV?
How have you connected your STB to the TV?
You also don't seem to be aware that FreeviewHD with your STB is HD whereas a satellite STB will give you just a crappy SD picture.

All good guys ... you'll have to excuse me coz i was born blonde...

ifound a whole heap of channels including Prime - thought it only went to 9 but when i went into double digits on my remote there's channels for africa.. not sure about DWTV nd Al Jazeera but all goods anyway.

RunningMan: I suspect what is happening is that you are connecting to the sat dish, not a UHF antenna. The cable itself is picking up just enough analogue signal to get some channels.

If you have the skills, replace your old antenna and cabling. If not, then either get a sat box which can connect to the current dish, or get an antenna installer to sort it out for you.

Be aware that the satellite service is not high definition... UHF service is (on mainstream channels).

This may be correct but I suspect that the Sky box was sending to the TVs via rf and the op is trying to tune Freeview using the TV instead of selecting the correct composite, component or HDMI input and tuning the STB.
We haven't yet ascertained how the STB is connected to the TV.

Sounds like you may be sorted now.
Lots of people don't realise there are more channels above 9 and don't think to try double digits.

Yeah what a dumbarse and i'm not even chemically inconvenienced anymore.

Was wondering though can i run more than one Tv off the same freeview box or do you need a seperate one for each TV.

Depends what outputs it has but yes you can. I used to run HDMI out to my TV and composite A/V to my DVD recorder before I got a Freeview TV.
You could connect the composite A/V output to an rf modulator and feed into your antenna co-ax system to the other TVs but the picture quality won't be very good (nearly the same as the old analogue quality).
Could also use a video sender. Check out Dick Smith and Jaycar websites.
Separate boxes would allow each TV to tune different channels.
Alternatively get a Freeview TV or two. Some are now very cheap and the cheap STBs don't always last very long. I've had two that died after 2 years.

Cheers for that Bigglz...sounds abit like the same deal i had with my sky decoder running through the splitter box i could watch sky on any of my tvs
