I think I may be having a similar problem.. I'm not good with technology so I'm sorry if I don't explain this very well! I've connected the receiver using the cables provided (red, white, yellow into the AV 1 bit on the back of the TV) and the other cable to the satellite dish. I turned on the receiver and turned my TV to AV 1. A blue screen appears with the word "Transonic" so it is obviously connected, but this screen disappears after a couple of seconds as if I've disconnected it. All that appears on the actual receiver is an orange dot and either "boot" or "ccr". Any idea what the problem is?

Either the receiver is shot or there is a short circuit. try disconnecting the Sat cable if the problem persists then there is a fault in the box,
"another trick would be to use a HDMI cable". This box (i.e. model THW-S1) doesn't have HDMI (at least mine doesn't), only AV and Ch. It does, however, always give a video output of some sort if out of standby mode and functional. this will be a "No signal" OSD if, say, the LNB is disconnected, but there will be something and the menu is always accessible. Default settings work in NZ, so restoring factory settings (after playing around with it .) ) is never a problem.
My one just died and I would like to resurrect it. Seems to have developed a PSU problem with power cycling at a rate of about 0.5Hz. Anyone know if this is a commonly known switched-mode fault with a quick fix?
