nope - new house (well it was 3 years ago). As mentioned above I have had an aerial dude come along with all his measuring devices etc and he checked all the connections/outlets/etc, changed a couple of connectors (thinking it might help a little; but it didn't), but he left with no change and saying that the signal is above what he would call a minimum standard for signal quality/strength. His parting comment was that if the only thing with a problem is the STB then the problem is likely to be the STB. Made sense to me; suppose I am just a bit disappointed that the DishTV STB's lack whatever the TV's have to make them better receivers. Asides from this we have been happy with the unit; so it's a shame to have it binned.
No idea - but it is also new (as of 3 years ago) and was the model with the largest number of elements available. Sorry I don't have a photo; and the weather is just not conducive to getting onto the roof without falling off/blown off/etc :)
yes - the signal was checked on the roof, in the roof (by the splitter), and at the outlets; all of which were sitting well within normal tolerances (hence I presume why the 2 TV's are not having a problem). There was no noticeable difference between any reference points. I think from memory he said signal quality and strength were sitting in the 70's.
yeah well we had a good run with the first T1020, but that cooked itself (or just gave up) and the replacement one had to be sent back immediately (didn't work out of the box), now this one is problematic too. Time to ditch it and get something worthwhile - Panasonic here I come! I just can't be arsed with all the shagging around anymore.
