Side topic. What am I missing on not having FV+?   Just TVNZ OD and 3Now? Or is there more?

...and Maori TV OnDemand! ;-)

Really, Freeview Plus isn't a deal breaker or anything, it's just another feature that can come in handy from time to time.

For example, for someone who doesn't have a PVR, (but a Freeview Plus TV) the ability to watch a show you may have missed on your TV, (rather than having watch on a PC/tablet/phone or needing some other device like Chromecast, Apple TV etc.), is useful.

Even for someone who has a PVR, sometimes while watching a recorded show I'll see a clip or advert of something that might be interesting, (but has already been played), Freeview Plus is an easy way to watch that.

For anyone who already has another device for access to the online content offered by Freeview Plus, (TVNZ OnDemand, 3Now, Maori TV OnDemand), or watches that same content via other services, then no, Freeview Plus isn't much use. But for most casual users I'm sure it's useful.

Also, given that lately we've seen TV manufacturers with app support that often only lasts a couple of years, Freeview Plus compatibility should (I would think) at least extend for the life of your TV.
