I'm dreading a such a switchover. I am essentially the default technical support guy for an elderly relative who is in a reception shadow where they can't get UHF, and satellite is the only option. They still pine for plugging in their VHF aerial and don't understand why they can't and why "the Government won't let them".
I had enough of a job persuading them that they needed a decoder as well as a TV, two decoders for two rooms, and have to change channels on the decoder not the TV. I still get support calls at work when, for instance, they somehow switch the TV to another input and panic because they can't get a picture. I have (literally) drawn pictures of their remotes and labelled which buttons they have to press to do things.
Persuading them that they really do need new boxes because the old ones are obsolete (even through they are not "broken"), and then having to get them comfortable using them will be a *nightmare*.
