Where ever I look the Dish offerings seem to generate a lot of complaints. Now I now complaint are what get published, folks with correctly working stuff post to that extent, but the Dish products scare me.

Im an AV installer for multiple retail stores in my area and we stopped touching DishTV products about 2 years ago as there were (and continue to be) way too many faults with their products.

Will recommend the Panasonic recorders though - much better reliability, stability and ease of use

I also recommend the Panasonic units. I have been using them for years.

The menus are a bit clunky. But they ate networkable, and mine have been rock-solid in terms of performance.

I purchased a Panasonic DMR-BWT760GN. Very easy to setup and no issues so far.

Cool - I believe that's the replacement for the model I have. Let us know how you get on with it.

Nice Mike. I've got a 700 I'll check yours out. Mine doesn't have Freeview plus or apps. It's ok. Loading can be slow but it's ok. I'm more about what I watch than how I watch it. But keen to check yours

I've got an 840GZ, but I was under the impression the 760 superseded it. It doesn't record to disc like the 840, but who wants to do that these days?

I am looking to buy a Panasonic DWR-HWT260LN to replace MySky.  Can anyone confirm that, like MySky, it is possible during a record to start watching the programme from the beginning, with FF/FR available, while the recording continues? I set the news to record every night then, 30 mins into the programme, start watching from the beginning so that I can FF through ads and asinine new stories. I find it takes about 20-25mins (and 15 of those minutes are sport and weather) to watch what the producers cleverly jam into an hour!

My BWT720 does that OK. Very handy for bypassing the ads.
