I believe the box I am referring to does not play illegal content.
I certainly would not want to upset Sky and contribute to there dwindling profit margins ☺

That's not a bad guess. Apparently Kodi repositories all over the place have been shutting down in the past few days due to aggressive new legal action by a consortium of content providers. This is on a much bigger scale than anything that has gone before. I would imagine that site @beenz has paid for won't be exempt from this either.
