I live in Jville basically on Mt Kaukau and I can only get a snowy reception on prime.  Light snow but snowy all the same.  I thnk my problem is that from my house I can physically see the towe I am just a little bit to low on the hill that blocks the view.

I am trying to decide whether I get a bigger UHF aerial installed on the roof or move to Freeview satellite.  Dont really want the later.  Any suggestions  i.e. with a snwoy prime signal work with theFV HD?  or would it be kind of marginal?  and woudl I be able to take the tuner back if it didnt work?.  Indoor aerial not really an option.

I would goto DSE and get one of their freeview HD boxes and see how it works. If you have LOS then I would try the aerial you have now, or try the one I mentioned earlier if it does not work.

Otherwise you can get an external aerial relaively cheaply too.

lchiu7: I found from Khandallah the UHF antenna supplied with my Hauppauge HVR-900H didn't work that well even though I can see KauKau. I had to use the external UHF antenna on the roof to get decent reception for DVB-T. But interestingly, while my Prime reception is not great (lots of multipath interference) the clear advantage of digital shows up as my DVB-T captures are crystal clear.

Interesting. I live in Johsonville and I have 100% signal with the little antenna supplied with the HVR-900. I can see Mt Kaukau from our window in the lounge.
