Slasher: Anyone know if all the live free view channels can be streamed via wifi?
I dont have a uhf or sat
Ta
You can stream live Freeview channels - in the link provided by the OP it’s described as:
“DishTV SmartVu+ 4K UHD Android 9 TV Box -- Freeview Aerial , Satellite and Live Stream“
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Does the chromecast builtin support 4K or do you need to use the apps on the box to have 4k support?
outdoorsnz: PrimeTV for me has audio sync issues and is unwatchable.
Apart from that everything else works well... So far.
Changing audio output to PCM from auto seems to fixed audio problems.
Google assistance button doesn't work. Keeps wanting you to pair the remote every time you press it.
Satellite freeview works well. Nice and quick. But pity you can't switch between sat freeview and internet freeview without having to change setting and re-tune.
I'd like one of these for my Dad to replace his aging single-tuner Dish DVB-S box, but he makes semi-frequent use of the record feature on that. The ability to use DVB-S for live TV is useful as he's on fixed mobile broadband and doesn't have an aerial.
Does the interface make it easy to find and watch shows on demand as well as watching live DVB-S? In other words, would he miss the record feature?
Decided to buy on to to try out and make use of my satellite dish which I've never used in this house.
I like the box a good size and does not feel to get too hot during use.
Have to make sure you update the apps in google play initially.
It picked up the satellite channels quickly and very little effort compared to previous box's I've had in the past.
Had to set the display settings to 4k manually as it was only defaulting to 1080p.
There are two freeview apps, one for the satellite and one for the Web, button on remotedefaults to satellite app..
The freeview app for the satellite you can access on demand by the menu button.
Video quality to me looks better via the online version of freeview over the satellite version.
I like the size and feel of the remote over the Smartvue X.
Voice recognition works fine.
Had some issues playing 4k though the built in chromecast on the previous SmartVue X but no issues here.

Does it have any USB ports as a matter of interest and I'm assuming Wi-Fi only - no hardwired connectivity?
Yep 2x USB
1X etherrnet looks to only be 10/100
Has both satellite and aerial connecters for freeview
AV out plug
SD card slot

Weird that's not mention in any specs I've seen published...
I see PB Tech has it reduced down to $159 for the next 3 days.
Dam I should of waited a day.

@outdoorsnz what do you mean by "having to change setting and re-tune."? Do you mean you cannot just switch between apps?
Also, general question for those that own one, I assume from the comments there is not a single EPG that sources channels from multiple inputs, such as DVB-T then DVT-S then Streaming? And that you have to swap between them?
Sorry my comments were incorrect. To clarify. There are separate apps for Freeview Satellite TV and Internet Only Streaming. Assuming sat EPG sat based and vice versa streaming internet based.

Short answer is yes you should be able to. But I just tried my linux formatted external HDD and the android system said it was not compatible and wanted to format... Which is a pain as kodi will read most drives. And works fine on my MiBox S android TV.
