As much as I hate it, I installed Windows Xp on Macbook, and with Pinnacle's TVCenter Pro, it works out of box.

It works for now, but I am still looking forward either using a amplifier, if that will improve the signal. Or buying another
TV tuner which have better support in Mac, or waiting for driver to be updated in Mac which in my experience could take
years.

So it seems to me my TV tuner--Pinnacle Nanostick are claimed to supported in Mac and Linux, but in my experience
not working as good as in Windows, and my guess is that due to the same firmware suplied by the manufacture.
They both seems to use Version 1.20 in Mac and Linux, if that improved, things will change. I am not a driver expert,
so that just my guess from a user's perspective.

So will an amplifier will improve the signal, maybe just a little? DSE it great, but I really feel guilty to exchange or refund
almost everything I bought for Freeview just because my lack of experience.

Antenna amplifiers aren't always the solution. In many cases they can make things worse, not better.

It all gets down to having a suitable aerial for your environment. For the majority of people an outdoor aerial is required to get a picture. If you are near a site then an internal aerial may work but is by no means a guaranteed solution.

I've already had a roof UHF aerial which working for Windows setting, but for the same hardware setting, signal will not strong enough for Mac or Linux(driver issue?), unless I connected TV tuner directly to the cable from aerial without go though a splitter and an 5M extension cable. I have changed both the cable and splitter, but the situation didn't change, that is why I think antenna amplifiers probably going to working, or not?
