I guess I will have to do the same . It is funny because if it was in Europe , things should work properly but here I see that people can be satisfied even with things which doesnt work !!!

The big appeal with these boxes was that initially they were very cheap compared to everything else. (Like $295 vs $550 for official Zinwell box). They were also software upgradeable, so people were prepared to put up with some initial problems. I'm sure there are very cheap alternatives in Europe that have similar issues.

Anyway, after the PVR update, the only issue I can now see is the audio issue on TV3. I watched all of greys last night with sound via digital coax out and did not suffer a single audio dropout. TV3 is not a problem for me either really, as any TV3 program I'm going to watch will be on Dolby for the 5.1 sound anyway.

I haven't left it very long, so I don't know how stable it is over time and I'm now used to physically turning this on and off every week anyway to cure most issues that appeared.

My unit is now on a second TV and is likely to be up for sale soon as I'm now fairly impressed with progress on the UK PlayTV box for the PS3.

1 x ET box going cheap if anyones keen?!

I had my first issue with the box. It would not change channels even though the on screen display showed that the channel was changing. Power cycling the box fixed it.

As for cost, mine was <$200 so a good deal. I would not have bought an official box for the current cost they are.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

That seems to be the fix for most of the ET box periodic problems.
