This is great news - I will update tonight. After starting my 7MC journey with ATI, I went to an nVidia card/drivers only to find that HDMI audio was deficient with major (5 sec) audio drop-outs when carrying the audo through the nVidia card to the HDMI port. That and the noise distraction of the card were major negatives.

Basically left with Hobson's choice, video that works on all channels but audio that forces me to go to a component solution and "push-button-hell" (I switch audio outputs from the TV to my stereo pre-amp which means that the multiple HDMI input sources use a single pre-amp input), or seemless HDMI with a motherboard 3200 ATI "card", but nothing on 576i.

I decided to go back to ATI last week-end as it seems like their HDMI engineering is better, and the majority of my Freeview requirement is on the major channels, and I figured new software might be on the way.

Now, it seems like I might get the best of both worlds.

Well done guys, and a big "thank-you!"

I been using it without any problems and REALLY happy with the new Catalyst drivers.

I am upgrading my Computer to RTM version of Win 7 tomorrow.

Hopefully the new driver should work on the new build too.

The only problem I am getting is a black square I am getting around TV4. Both TV6 and TV4 are broadcast on 576i (SD). Why does C4 cant stretch all the way to the edge of your wide screen?

I have not had any green pixelation issues with the new ATI driver. So I am very happy.

I sometimes get this as well. I think its just that not all programs are broadcast in widescreen format.

just to confirm from my side, when I first installed CCC 9.7 I did get a BSOD just like some of you guys. I ignored it ;-) and the PC started properly without issue and 576i continues to be rock solid.

I suspect the bursts of pixilation are to do with small bugs that remain in the ATI drivers for handling keyframes on the interlaced channels (ie. ch3 1080i and tv4 and up 576i). I have seen this since the start of Win7 7000 release with the various CCC versions. I do not see the pixelation issues on TV1 or TV2. I've quickly got used to these small bursts as it's just such a relief to have 576i content working at all!

Bluetoothkiwi - I think the issues you were seeing with borders around some of the ch4 content are to do with the video source and the way it was originally encoded as I see it on some ch4 content but not all - so this would most likely be a broadcast issue IMHO.

Looks like Win7 RTM is very close now, so it'll be interesting to see how these issues pan out under RTM and how plugins like HeatWave work under releases after 7100 (as under 7260 Heatwave is bust).

Just to confirm that it works. As others have noted, I also got a reboot immediately after installation (no BSOD, just a restart). Other than that, some bursts of pixelation on 1080i (TV3), and some issues with audio synch on the same channel from time to time. Otherwise, I'm very happy.

One thing to remember is that normal TV's are overscanned by around 5% - if you are viewing broadcast TV and not overscanning your image you do run the risk of having small borders on some content.

If this does does worry you then you'll just need to add a small amount of overscan to fix it.
