definitely wasn't there before, but is back now. The signal is hardly booming in, but I suspect that's atmospheric as much as anything

still working for me... and still nothing on there i'd go out of my way to watch...

The Ashes is in HD which is nice but apart from that yeah...

On a Happy note I can view the HD channel with a Nova-S plus/HVR-3000. I assume this is because its a Mpeg-2 stream?

RustyGonad: Somehow I don't think they'll be missed if they go - not exactly hours of riveting content on SBS - unless of course your dead, in which case it would be absolutely stunning viewing...

Then again they could be the newfound Freeview channels, like I said earlier they would fit right in, I can see it now - Freeview announces a stunning new addition to the lineup - SBS + 1.

One the good side they're also broadcasting a complete 7 day EIT guide - so you can see in advance what you won't be watching - unless your dead of course (no offence to dead people), in which case you'll just love it...

There is actually a lot of really good programs on sbs, I've been watching it for a couple of years now off the aurora feed.

You have to remember this is a aussie channel and all the good programs are on in the evening (so they start later here (differen't time zone)
Don't bother during the day - there is nothing but ethnic news feeds, but at night they have all sorts - Great docos, movies, comedies, damas (ie outragious fortune ;p)
they have had in the past Topgear UK - before NZ (as well as aussie topgear), southpark, the mightyboosh etc

SBS had all the soccer when I was in Oz on holiday, too. To be honest was the only telly I watched.

Another vote of support for SBS from me - a varied menu that I would have thought would have a morsel or two for most people who have graduated from bubblegum. Hope they stay - if so, they will have a viewer in me, although i will probably set my recorder to pick the best for my tastes.

I am using the Digistar 810U, so the answer should be the same for the Digistar 811U. Just add the transponder as detailed in the first message of this thread, scan and there they are 4 TV and 2 radio channels.

I don't have satellite (yet) but I've just been looking at the lyngsat page for D1 and noticed the ABC is on there too, has anyone been able to view it?

correct. Any NA or NB beam would be very difficult to pick up in NZ without a very large dish.
