sbiddle: Samsung TV's all have firmware issues and most don't let you access the AC3 streams, you're stuck with HE-AAC.


We have a Series 5 32 inch and Series 4 26 inch Sammy and were lucky with both sets. Both of them default to AC3 when it's available. I have noticed your earlier comments and wonder which models you had problems with?

Very interesting about the Samsungs. Looks like I'll have to tell the manager not to go with the SS in his TV upgrade. He is just the minimalist watcher: in-built FVHD tuner with no (HT)PC.

So no issue with LGs, Pannys, etc.?
