Personally I'll be looking at the Ultraplus 700 HDMI unit for $140 when I buy another sat box for this years F1 season as I need HDMI out but don't need any HD decoding.

I can recommend the Ultraplus 700HDMI.

Been using one for over a week with no issues.  The HDMI connection is an improvement over Component for image quality and I feel I am getting the best possible image quality I can from SD satellite now.

I'm not worried about not having upscaling from the satellite receiver as the LCD will do that anyhow.

It's running with a 500GB USB drive and recording a program couldn't be easier.

For the $140 it's an absolute bargain.

Yes it's the one I will be getting soon too. I have now need for HD on satellite at the moment as nothing I really want to watch is in HD that I can receive. SBS HD is the only one I know of locally, unless you're looking for a unit that can take a valid SKY card, which I'm not.

As you say, the TV willl upscale anyway, I just need hdmi to go to my receiver as I only ran one hdmi cable to the TV and my receiver can't upscale analogue to hdmi.

For that price I can't see why you'd opt to go with any other unit personally. But hey, I haven't got one yet so can't say just for sure!

They are running periodic advertisements on Triangle TV saying you can come visit their premises and buy one for $135, like they did with the advertisements for the Globo satellite boxes.
