old3eyes: Could they have made the FOUR logo any fracking bigger?? It's huge..

Not wrong! I think it sucks when watermarks distract from the viewing.
I found out last year that there's no broadcasting standard on the size of channel watermarks.. weird.

Same s**t with the volume level of ads (my newish Panasonic TV doesn't normalise volume the way my old Panasonic CRT TV did)

Well placement of them seems to be targeted at old CRTs with massive overscan problems.

IMO they should place it in the corner of a proper TV, and if its cut off somewhat for people with stoneage roundtubed monsters, big bloody deal.

It is one thing to interrupt television viewing with advertisements but it's another to have a huge, ugly, muddy brown advert at the bottom right of the screen throughout.

Other ways of obtaining content just became alot more appealing for alot of people in their target demographic.

hdinsider: Mine's a cheap little 32" KDL 32V5500. What model Sony do you have Behodar? Just talked to a friend with a Panasonic PVR and a Panasonic TV - both still say C4 and C42. No update there either...

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. I'm not sure of the model (I'm at work) but it's also 32" and was the cheapest model when I bought it.

However, I did notice something last night. The "info bar" that appears when you change channels or press "i" on the remote lists "Four", the Home menu lists Four, and the Freeview Guide has the Four logo in the top left. However, the TV stream in the top-right corner still says "C4". I haven't tried retuning so that might fix it.

Being sure that all viewers see their logo really is a bigger deal for the broadcaster than it is for the viewer. They don't put the logo there for the viewers convenience.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

the logo is in basically the same place no matter what the station. Just did a quick review of my "internet obtained" tv shows and they also have a station logo in about the same place.
I dont know why C4 (was C42) now has c42 and c4 logos on it, its really annoying. It has one in each of the bottom corners.

Try Vultr using this link and get us both some credit:

I think I may be seeing more cropping from my media player than the freeview box making the NZ ones seem more intrusive.

In anycase its still stupidly large.

C42 is now a show on C4, so there is 2 logos like there is with all the other shows like twice as nice etc.
