wilt64:hdinsider: The biggest problem with showing this in HD would be the linking costs. HD costs approximately four times what SD costs to get here. There is nowhere further in the world than NZ from the wedding...
Good news though, the SD pictures should look really good. Much of it will be shot in HD and as the main wedding broadcast is a pool feed, the broadcasters will have mostly the same footage.
I'm looking forward to comparing the technical quality of TV1 and TV3 on the night.
I think you will find the overall picture quality will be better on TV3, MediaWorks seem to put a bit more effort into the technical side of things...lets face it who was the first to go Nicam Stereo, who was the first to go 16:9 wide screen who was the first to go AC3 and HD!!
TVNZ had NICAM stereo on CH2 in Auckland(1989) before TV3 launched.TV3 had NICAM at all transmitters at launch. It took TVNZ a long time to expand the service ( I think Wellington had NICAM but not real stereo sound for some time).
