snomitz: I have updated my T1020 with the new firmware and am finding it working well with the exception of pixellated playback at times as has been mentioned by others.
froob: Just to run quickly through the answers to some of your questions:
- You are right, you can watch the standard def recordings on your computer using VLC.

I have been surprised by a feature I did not believe existed. Last night I had booked through the EPG to record the channel one 8.30pm movie "Frame". At 8.30 I happened to be watching channel 2, and a screen message came up to tell me that recording had started successfully. had changed my mind and continued to watch channel two movie "Ghosts of girlfriends Past", and continued to watch this until the end. i thought it a glitch that it had not switched to channel one.
I find today that it had in fact recorded the channel one movie, while I watched the channel two movie. I thought it was not capable of recording one while watching another?

Would you mind to tell me the make, model, capacity and physical size (e.g. 2.5 or 3.5 inch) of your external hard drive?
Mine was a Western Digital Element 2TB (i.e. the hard drive, enclosure and power supply were all made by WD) and as you said, gave me lots of pixellation.
Thanks.
Mac2008:froob: What I think is media server access is under menu > connectivity > media center > network. When I load it up it recognises my media server (a Synology Diskstation), but unfortunately crashes when I select it, causing the DishTV to reboot. You might have more luck.
In talking to the techs at DishTV about it, the chipset has the provision for it, but the software is not setup yet for it. They need more time to fully develop it and iron out the bugs. That is why it is not listed as a feature.
