Hi All

Got home in daylight today, was able to see the roof and aerial,.......oops, no satelite dish, just 2 aerials - UHF and VHF, and understand on that basis that the VHF will be the TV1, TV2 etc, but how do you tune these from a satelite receiver ??

If there is no satillite dish then you wouldnt get anything on a sat box. VHF is only used for obsolete analog in NZ, there is no digital on it, so feel free to remove it from the roof if you have no other use for it like a makeshift FM antenna.

Yes but am getting the other channels on the UHF but missing TVNZ channels, so must be recg HD terrestial for Freeview, so why is TVNZ missing?

Probably because you don't have a UHF aerial. A VHF aerial will still deliver a signal but in your case it's obviously no where near good enough.

I'm totally confused (as will others) about your hardware though if you don't have a dish and but a sat receiver and are picking up a sat MUX.

If they are getting the sat mux then there has to be a dish there. It might be somewhere like the back of a shed etc because the last owner wanted it out of sight etc.

Sat box will do nothing on a UHF antenna.

So what you are saying is that I cannot pick up signal through a sat box on UHF? Maybe the dish is hidden or something....wierd

It might help if you provided more information on your setup.
A photo would be good.
A satellite box cannot pickup any reception without a dish and LNB. Just not possible.
What have you got plugged into the back of the box?
What have you got pluggged into your TV?
How is your box connected to the TV?
Are you using the box's remote to change channels?

I think we are all now totally confused.
