Don't you mean  Minister for Sky / TVNZ,  as Mediaworks in a privately owned company ??

and yet you'd be moaning if the govt didn't allow the numerous radio stations and there were more than media works to defer their payment, you'd be complaining they had to shut down because the evil government didn't help them when advertising was down due to a major global downturn.  let's see, if you look at the deal media works and the other radio stations have to pay interest on their delayed payments so in essence the taxpayer got more money for that deal than they would of had those stations had to close down.

I'm surprized tha the Gov didn't ask for their money back after TV3s  blatant anti National    news and program promotions before  the  last election..

Well, it's pretty clear that if the allegations are correct and the deal was to buy a pro-government TV3 then the nats didn't get what they paid for!

I didn't think it was a loan guarantee - I thought it was letting them pay for the frequencies they used on a year-by-year basis rather than all up front?

Looks like JDA were able to come to a deal where the expansion areas are now able to view TV-9 as I'm watching watching it here in Invercargill.
