Just an update on my locked up device problem. When I returned home last night, the update had obviously timed out and the device had gone into standby mode. A second attempt at the "over the air" update was sucessful.

Very impressive little box really for the price and breathed new life into the old Panasonic TV in our rumpus room.

Sounds like the download failed rather than the flashing part of the operation.
The most risky bit is always where the reflashing bit starts.

Glad you got it sorted - they look like pretty good value.
Its a pain that the freeview approved boxes only seem to ever get over the air (OTA) updates.
Its a nice enough method - but imagine they broadcast the updates a few times but there is a pallet of boxes at the back of a warehouse that doesnt get sold until after the OTA broadcasts have finished.

I always think its comforting to be able to go to a support website and download and DIY the updates if required.
