haha

told you guys it sounded awful.

over the past two days it's actually toned down quite a bit, not as listenable as pre-olympics but it's lost a lot of the harsh, metallic quality.

still the worst sounding FV HD channel.

Like an old fashioned tape recording speeding up and slowing down
Thanks for that. I thought it was a loose cable and have been twiddling connections for days
Any idea what causes wowing?

The left ring of the olympics logo is still slightly cropped on the left side. Really bothers me. How can that get past any QC, and still not be picked up on and fixed, cant see it on the analog/freeviewHD/sky SD versions but I think that is a different overlay since it looks very different.

Brief pitch shifts in the audio is something I was hearing for a very very long time on C4 and then four on analog, yet other people watching and listening couldnt hear it when it happened, even if I taped it (remember those) and replayed it.

The sound on freeview prime sounds like it has a nasty case of the fake treble sounds that plauged WMA files at low bitrates, but that is in common with all freeview channels. Pic quality on prime freeview looks to be on par with discovery on sky with the artifacting over the water and all around the prime logo and olympic rings as it passes over the clouds or spectators in the rowing on now.

I just watched a promo and a highlights roll and the warbling sound from yesterday seems to have gone. Can anyone else confirm? Listening to Freeview terrestrial.

Just in time for the closing ?

Had a look last night.

Sound is better but still crappy.

Picture looks worse ?

Some relay race was on but the artifacts in the picture made it unwatchable.

I get so pssed off watching the track with the jaggies where the lanes go around the bend.  Knowing they'd be smooth curves in HD makes me pretty angry.

I have been getting a harsh intermittent metallic chirp on Prime (satellite Freeview broadcast).

I am noticing on two satellite decoders both SuperNet 4200S units.  No other channel is affected on these units.

First noticed during Olympics, but it's pretty constant now.
