I think AR has finished hasnt it?
Wasnt on last Saturday anyway :-(

Havent watched anything on Prime in the last few days - will try and make a point of watching something tonight.

My signal is from the Waitakares in Auckland.

When they were screening QI repeats each night it sounded really bad - I think it must be something to do with the higher pitched notes maybe getting strangled!

Hope they do fix it - was particularly miffed that they just said 'talk to Freeview'.

Changing the frequency of the reference word clock will change the pitch of decoded digital audio.

If the clock generator is given a bad or no reference to lock to, this can result in a hunting VCO which will cause a "wowing" effect in the audio.

This effect is obviously unrelated to the wow heard in old analogue tape transports which was a mechanical problem.

I was watchi.. err... I had Idol in the background 2 weeks ago and thought there was some more shocking than normal singing going on.. but it was EVERY person.

Then realised that was what this thread was relating to :) Warbling.

And I be in christchurch. So it may be the downscaled stuff? Like the source for idol is likely delivered high rated? (unless theres the cheapo option like TVNZ cash in on with cancelled series etc)

I watched Prisoners' Wives on Prime last night (via Freeview) and the music soundtrack sounded OK on both the programme and the ads inbetween.  Looks like the problem may have been fixed.
