It's working here.

I'll be interested in how well it works, if reliable may consider ditching Sky digital rental decoders.

Need Series link to work well, and for it  not to record +1 channels when HD available.

Hmmm, I just went through specs, it's only two terrestrial turners. The other four tuners are for satellite, which freeview has no HD on.

More chance of something going wrong when programs overlap, looks like Sky Box is winner with 4 tuners capable of picking up HD.

Edit: They've done the tuners the wrong way around, terrestrial should have more in my opinion.

I agree about the tuners - Terrestrial really needs more than 2

Panasonic Aus have released a triple tuner unit....i actually quite like the spec on this one, i think it would do well here...mmm - to the 2TB hard drive!

Anyone going to Aus soon?!!?? (Although, serious question, would it work here?!)

I don't want no sugar in it - thank you very much

I find it hard to believe two HD tuners is too much of a limitation on a platform that's only got four or five distinct HD channels in the first place.

A lot of boxes, depending on the their software, will let you record two channels from a single tuner at the same time if they're on the same mux.

Do people really record that much these days with a full month to watch on catch up?

Its not about how much recording, its about what is on at the same time.

@evilengineer If asked I would have said the we record a lot of material but your post had me thinking. I checked our Panasonic recorder and well no we don't do a lot of recording and a good percentage of what is on the HDD has not been viewed. We have new TV so don't need the smarts on the recorder so I am wondering now if we even need it and could declutter the shelf a bit.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Knocking the price down by $100 would be good idea but I'm impressed for once.

I've noticed Dish TV have always had a very high RRP on their own boxes to buy direct whereas accessories are reasonably priced.  The 'current' T2200 has $449 on it but no physical retailer ever has advertised it for that as $399 is the highest I've ever seen.  I spent several months biding my time having been given advanced warning my TiVo was coming to an end.  Happened to be in The Warehouse the other day and they had one on the shelf for ~$190 obviously clearing old stock.

Be interesting to see what retailers end up doing with the "RRP".

I find it pretty challenging to find a single programme worth watching/recording at any given time, to be honest. laughing

Must just be me, but if you don't like competitive cooking/house renovations or highway patrol/boarder cops....etc

You missed the never ending supply of terrible Aussie competitions that TV 2 believes needs to be on three nights a week and a couple of hours at a time.
