Handle9: wongtop, how are you finding it a week on?

Mostly its really great and easy to use.  We are watching a lot more TV than we used to.  We have our favourite programs set up on series link.  Its cool to get to the end of the day and decide to watch TV, and then you can just watch something pre-recorded that's waiting for you.

The only issues that we have are occaisonal picture glitches - not sure if it signal issues, or perhaps it glitches when it starts recording one channel while already recording another.

The other thing to note is that while you can watch one channel while recording two others - the three channels have to be on two muxes.  E.g. if you are recording TV1 and prime you can't watch TV3.

Thanks for that. It'll be interesting to get a comparison between this and the Magic TV. Have we got a release date for the Magic TV yet freitasm?

OK a further update. I have had a couple of recording failures;
1. Recording "planet earth" on Prime on the 2nd, it started recording an hour late. That maybe a glitch with the Prime EPG and daylight savings, as all the other recordings that were made that week were OK.

2. Recording the "international documentary - Rwanda" on Maori at 8:30 on Tuesday the 5th. The play list showed that an hour and 9 minutes was recorded (the show plus the buffer), but when playing back it froze at about 25 minutes in and would go no further. It did say "playback stopped" and dumped back out to the playlist, and when I tried to play it again it would fast forward to the point where it froze and no further. Luckily a mate recorded the show on VHS so will be posting the tape to me - will have to hook up the VHS to the TV and hope that it works.

Following the above I have formatted the HD using the on screen menus - it was really fast, so don't think that it was a full format though. Will keep an eye on it and hope that the same thing doesn't happen again.
