Or, in my case, just bypass the whole thing and go on-demand,

Anything to immunise myself from Prolefeed.

As long as producers of the on-demand programming are not producing the same stuff.

That is always going to be a problem in NZ, we can have cheap fibre - but there has to be a portal to access decent content (which doesn't involve VPN / Proxy servers)

Already, Netflix has said it's giving NZ a miss. 3 guesses as to why.

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

Yep, we have slow speed & bad data caps, but there are also license issues with the proramming.

Even with FTH, it's still going to be controlled by the big players.
Now the US companies are looking at 'Netflix Taxes' to make up for the drop in STB rental / subscriptions as people shift to that model, lucky our pay-tv operator doesn't offer broadband.

I can't see us having too much in the way of uncapped plans, or at least not for a decent price.
