If my landlord refused to pay for the UHF aerial then that is fine, I would pay for it myself, but he would also have to expect me to take it with me when I left since it was my property, not his.

The issue with a tenant installing an aerial themselves is that then they will want to take it away, leaving holes etc where it was, which the landlord may then withhold bond for, even though it was something the house 'should' have and will make it more rentable to the next tenant.

I know a landlord does not have to provide an aerial, but it makes sense that they should. I am a landlord, and if my Tenants wanted one, I would get one installed (they have a dish).
