MikeB4: Choice and HGTV are fine on our system, Choice was not good a few years back but now they are the same as TVNZ and Meduaworks SD offerings. The content on Choice is better than HGTV.

I just checked both, not 720p, but looks fine quality wise

Channel is testing on Satellite now, must have LCN off on Freeview Approved devices, otherwise retune

What's the frequency of this please? I cannot see it mentioned on lngsat, and it doesn't come up under 12456 or 12483.

Hmm, just scanned again and still cannot see it.  I see its now on Lngsat, but my HTPC won't find it :-(  Windows Media Centre, dual DVB-S2 card.  Gets all other channels including Channel 9 (Ausi), just no HGTV.

Just to confirm, its 12456, 22500, horizontal?

@hdinsider can get it (although they said the channel ID was wrong) and its on Lyngsat, so it should be viewable? Or would I need to manually add it rather than scanning for it?

Like Josh said, it'll show up tomorrow. I guess some tuners don't pick it up yet...

Really looking forward to it. A great addition to freeview satellite.

“The expanded distribution of HGTV reflects the demand for quality lifestyle programming in the region,” said Julia Baylis, general manager of HGTV in New Zealand. “We are so pleased to be partnering with Freeview Satellite and Sky to reach 100% of households in New Zealand.”

and still the horrible issue on both Choice tv and HGTV remains on any sort of content using panned or motion camera shots.

dropped frames, like gaming on a machine too slow to deliver a proper 60fps - things jump around.

I haven't noticed this, does it occur on both Satelite and terrestrial or on one of them?

I will have look for it, will be pissed if I now start seeing it 😣.

I dont have satellite but its been there since the start on choice. Only brit shows are watchable since they are made at the stupid 50fps rates. Anything US/Canadian is aweful, and that is all that hgtv seems to have.

Ads are not the same as shows. Ads may look ok but the show is horrid.
