pete9321: Reminder guys...have a ET box from stereo world, take it for a refund...as theres no warranty.

There may be no warranty but the supplier can not get out of the consumer guarantees act just because he hasn't been paid by his retailer. If he gets taken to the disputes tribunal over this he will lose.

Not necessarilly as steroe world not seller..its the "Receiver" who is selling, and they have NO legal right to goods...Warranty goes back to supplier...and They WILL NOT warranty any goods sold by stereo World...end of story...buyers choice!! simple!!

Correct, it is indeed buyers choice and hell would freeze over before I supported this brand with my hard earned cash after having read some of the comments in this thread.

It reminds me of a thread I was watching on the Freeviewshop forum regarding audio out sync problems for another brand of STB. The idiot that runs that forum just started deleting a few posts that complained about that particular audio problem, insisting there was no problem. Buyers choice came into play and I happily shopped elsewhere.

Agree with that from what I have read! The importers/re-sellers of the cheap boxes post on discission boards and rubbish the zinwell/accredited receivers with no evidence and shill their own products. i.e. nemoZ.

You miss my point. This would end up as a claim against the importer under the consumer guarantees act. It would not be a warranty issue. Supplier warranties are largely useless anyway as they often don't even cover the supplier's legal minimum warranty anyway.

I assume this supplier is now making sure that their PPSR registrations are up to date for any customers they sell stuff on credit to.

Are you saying you want us to send our units to you for a full refund?

They have no legal right to sell goods which are not legally theirs...i.e. unpaid for...simple..!!

point of order here, the recievers are technically a reseller . the supplier is the persons or company who imported the goods . ownership of goods does not transfer the warranty, manufacturers usually provide a percentage of the order for free to cover warrantys,
if the supplier is greedy he will sell the freebies and then try whatever ploy nescessary to dodge a warranty claim,

Goods are still legally owned by importer...I believe their is aclause on their invoice to stereo world, stating this...(Goods remain property of supplier till fully paid for)...so in actual fact the importer retains right of ownership too...
any one who has purchased a unit from stereo world should take it back for a refund...simple...

Did anyone watch Prison Break last night?

Box had a mental last night. Bad pixelation, kept showing that damn powerball dishwasher thing (was this just my box or actually broadcast often?!) Clock stopped working and when I changed channel the banner wouldn't disappear. Turned on and off at the rear power supply but noticed the clock was out again on the front panel this morning.

On a plus note the audio dolby 5.1 was perfect throughout the whole show. In fact I have no problems with this on TV3 as it's in dolby all the time. Issues only on all other channels with the base standard 2 channel audio.

Anyone else watch this show? Cheers.
