And it's been mentioned before that you want to aim for UHF signal only, as some units do not like a combo with VHF. A diplexer in reverse can help to remove the VHF signal prior to feeding into the unit if VHF is required for some reason.

Is it still possible to skip back 6 minutes somehow?

Someone mentioned a few pages back that they could skip forward 10 minutes and back 6 minutes.

I'm using v3.15 but it skips back 10 minutes. Can't see any options to change this.

If you go back in this thread to around http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=83&topicid=43120&page_no=39 details can be found.

I have used v3.13b6 without any issues here for the last 6 months or so.

Well worth it.

Hi,

I have reverted my box to 3.13b6 and recommended by SCUBADOO and I now have the 10 forward/6 back facility. (Thanks SCUBADOO).

Everything else seems to work OK, so far not seen any other degrade in performance.

I've found the channels on the Kordia mux have too much gamma, meaning darker areas are far too bright and blacks aren't black. Is this a problem with the MagicTV or the fault of Kordia?

It's a problem of the Magic TV. It's not gamma, but video levels. Black and white of the Kordia mux are displayed as video levels, as opposed to full PC levels, meaning black is brighter and white is darker. The Media Works mux used to do this too, but it thankfully changed a year or 2 ago.

I've had 2 other freeview decoders and a freeview tv, and they all have consistent levels across all 3 muxs, consistent with TVNZ and now Media Works on the Magic TV.

So this affects the MagicTV on all video output modes on HDMI as well as analogue?

If the .tv and .ts of a recording are copied off the HDD and then deleted from the MagicTV, can they be restored to the MagicTV by copying them back or would that not work?

I noticed that the Magic box has disappeared from the online products available from Bond & Bond, Noel Leeming and Freeviewshop - is this a bad omen or suggest there may be a new model coming?

Looks like it's the latter - Freeviewshop has a 'coming soon' for the MTV3700TD

So there's a bigger HDD, and by the looks of it a better video scaler? Or have I read that wrong?
