GregV: I received my Gen2 remote today, on initial play it seems to be a marked improvement on the original.
It is sold as a learning remote, and I want to use it to control my TV volume, mute, and power, but I don't know how to set it to learning mode. Anyone able to shed any light?
@benz1 you should be able to use the learning function to overwrite a lesser-used button (help, subtitles, TV/radio etc) with the 'schedule' button of the original
It's a massive shame the Gen3 remote (REMPH2 - https://www.dishtv.co.nz/index.php?route=product/product&path=73&product_id=111) isn't programmable as it's a much cooler/TiVo looking remote.
The Gen 3 remote works very well. There is another remote that works well to, If you go to the IP address that your T2200 is on there is a fully working remote there onscreen that looks like the original remote.
Wow, I've only had the Harmony 650 remote for 2 days and already I dont know how I did without it before !!
joshhill96:Re: Original Remote,
I would like to apologise in regards to the original remote, this remote is still being shipped with the unit and the option of the newer remotes can be purchased on the Dish TV website. the new remotes were designed based on the feedback from customers of the Original remote and have had positive feedback since selling these. The photo I made up was to clarify the different versions of the remote to make it easier to identify.
I apologise for any confusion,
Josh

Here is said image posted earlier.
GregV: @doubletop Gen2 is the $40 rectangular Learning remote REMPH1. Gen3 is the $35 curvy remote REMPH2.
So let me sum up.
All units are shipped with the old remote and you have to purchase a new remote to get them to work correctly.
The new remote that is best is the Gen2 at $40.
Sounds like a case for the CGA with the old remote not being fit for purpose.

The original remote works as it should, there are no faults, however if you are having some trouble using it contact the team via email or phone line and they will be able to assist.

Thomas18b: My parents got a T2200 recently to replace their TiVo, but after setting it up my dad is unable to record shows. I looked at the status of the hard drive and it is showing as Not Active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your message via inbox. I have replied :)
