Has 2degrees stopped selling these?

Seems to only be a link to the t-stick on their site now.
Should have purchased it earlier!

If it's not showing online it's because we are out of stock. You should still be able to get them in 2? stores or Dick Smith - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/storelocator.

I have one of these on 2degrees

http://www.expansys.co.nz/huawei-e585-mifi-hspa-wireless-router-unlocked-with-3-logo-202737/

That I bought from trademe. It was originally on the 3 network in the UK, and it's been made to work here by whoever sold it to me. It works fine, and with an LCD screen gives you more information than the earlier version that 2degrees sells.

The only thing that doesn't work is SMS - the device tells me I have txt messages waiting, but the control panel won't let me see them. It's an issue i've seen a few people on the web report, but since I don't need to send or receive txt on that number it's no problem.

I could also use one of my 2 phones with hotspot, but the picket wifi was offered for $99 incl 3GB of mobile zone data.

I'm going to Queenstown with my family, and I know they will all want FB etc on their laptops etc, and I don't want to have my phone continually used as the AP.

I have a Xperia X1 with router function, and could use that (it's my GPS too) but would still have to buy some data (I don't use 2 degrees for data as have work sim in my GalaxyS)

Can anyone comment on the range / speed of the 2degrees model.

Guess I can save $50 buy just buying the data pack. ( as long as my xperia is good enough for 4 - 5 clients)

I tried several 2Degree shops in Auckland yesterday and they all claimed that the modem has been withdrawn. Despite advertising it in store and on their web page and stores advised they were not getting any more. Wierd

To repeat the E5 Pocket Wifi has NOT been withdrawn from our line.  Can you PM the store that told you this?  It may be out of stock in some stores and the on-line store, which is why it's not showing.

The E5 comes with 3GB of Mobile Broadband data to be used in our MBB Zones - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobilebroadband/broadbandzones.

I got the same reply in Wellington stores.  (this was yesterday afternon)

Do you gys not have a stock system between stores so at least your retail staff could tell me the best place to go (I was told to go to Harvey Normans, but they told me to go to 2 Degrees)

Or at least do the calling for me for some customer service.

Hi guys, the E5 is now an 'EOL' product.  Please PM me where you are in NZ, your name and number and we'll try and get one shipped out to your local 2degrees store.

Is there going to be a replacement?

That reply from 2degrees is most interesting. Shops in Auckland suggested the same thing and when I mentioned it on this forum I got a reply from 2 degrees that it was not withdrawn.
As I stated earlier I eventually tracked down one and are more than happy with it but I am sorry to see that it is no longer going to be available. It would appear that the shops were correct and 2 degrees were just stalling. Wonder why?

The rapidly ever-changing world of retail... and 2degrees for that matter! It's hard to keep up sometimes!
