Hi,

I'm developing a new business where we will need some sort of keyfob access system and I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with this.

I need a quote for a system of 4-5 keyless entry readers, about 12 "switch" readers (so you can't operate a machine unless your tag is authorised), some sort of central management software (preferably something we can tap into via SDK/API), plus about 600 tags.

I've done the requisite Google search, but I'm looking for a bit of impartial advice from anyone who might have priced up a system themselves - who to ask, what to look for, what to watch out for, etc.

Any helpful advice appreciated, thanks!

At work we use Cardax. Only thing I would say you may run into is that the commercial version of this sorta stuff are $$$$. I know that there are people out there who make these things with arduinos and stuff but for the things you are talking about I would reccomend opening up the yellow pages and talking options with some pros.

We design and install complex access control systems as part of our company's portfolio.

I can think of a number of commercially available options to use from what you have described, although I cannot think of any that have any kind of API.

The closest thing I can think of is a certain system that uses a scripted language to pretty much do anything you want.

At its core it has inputs and outputs, can read Weigand or other format prox cards and has built in timers and rules.

Owing to the scripting you can do pretty much anything with it - (the scripting includes if/else statements among other things)
