So, anyone else upgraded and gone WTF!?!!?

As best we can tell and according to support, logs of jobs is no longer presented in the logs the way it was in v5, and the only logs is a file which truncates at 10MB found deep in the file system.

I can't see anything new in the new version except a redesigned UI with less flexibility.

Am I missing something?

Seems to be the way all this kind of software is heading.

I am really shocked at the direction of software vendors right now. It seems insane really that they would hide logs which is such a fundamentally important feature! They might as well turned off backups!

Slight thread nerco.. But someone might make use of this.

SPX logs it's data to a SQLite file here - %programdata%\StorageCraft\SPX\spx.db3 - the structure is pretty straight forward, you could query this directly. This is in addition to the raw text log file (%programdata%\StorageCraft\spx\log\spx_service.log) - but yes, this does truncate.

Or - SPX has a 'RESTful' api, you can get at the data via tcp:13581 - I've started using this method to get at the data via a c# .net app.. just takes a bit of toying with fiddler (as the API is undocumented..) and the json output to get what you want, accessing the API is pretty straight forward..  My code skills are pretty weak, but I don't mind sharing my findings if this is of any benefit :)
