In wp-config.php file I called local host, "local host" not sure if it should be called 3ix.org or http://www.3ix.org
Also my username and database name might be wrong.
That's the only thing I did that I can think might be wrong.
Can anyone help? I get the error message "Error establishing a database connection" when I go to my site address.

Is the mysqld service running? Can you connect to the DB with the username/password you have given wordpress?

I downloaded wordpress and edited the wp-config.php file as per tutorial video.
I haven't logged in through the wordpress website, but instead through my host server - file manager and mysql database config.
I don't think I understand the question.
My username and database name are as I inputted on the mysql database page, but the video tutorial says i should add "install" to each name which I didn't do.

The host should be able to help you get the correct settings setup.

Your post is confusing and ambiguous, it lacks a proper question, information about what you're doing, and what's wrong. If you're talking about setting up Wordpress on any host most have automatic installers. If not there's a 5 minute wordpress install guide which is good. I've set up dozens of WP sites so I could help if you were more clear.

I've done everything it says in that guide and also on the installing wordpress instructional video on wp101.com
My host 3ix say that my database is empty. I have asked them what is supposed to be in my database.

If you are setting up WordPress for the first time, just make sure you have the right database credentials.

Server host is probably localhost - but could be something else. That information you should have gotten when you created the database.

If this is the first install, just remove wp-config.php and go to the site and WordPress will walk you through a setup wizard.

After you set up the empty database you have to tell Wordpress the credentials by going to a specific URL on your website. That will check the database connection and then install the required tables in the database.

It's working now, I'm trying to install divi. Which file do I upload? My host told me to uninstall and go through their wordpress installer softaculous so I'm doing that.
I got up to the install divi file, but there are a ton of files in the divi folder.

For a theme you typically unzip the file sent you and find the zip file inside that you need to upload to the plugins section. Sometimes you directly upload the theme sent to you. If it's free you may be able to add it from the add plugins screen from the live repository.

problem solved, I had unzipped the folder and they only let you upload one folder, so I had to find the original zipped folder and upload that.
Or I prob could have rezipped it if I had a zipper app.

Yep, some themes come ready to upload, some you have to unzip and upload one component.
