I've been using Samsung class 10 micro-SD cards with Raspberry Pi's for a while. I used the Samsung cards because I find them rock solid reliable, I have never had one fail, and they perform as claimed. I nearly exclusively use 32GB cards, as the extra space provides plenty of room for the wear levelling algorithm.

I've tried some other brands in the past. I've had some fail within 24 hours. I have had some corrupt data. I have had quite a few that perform no where near the speed advertised.

Much to my horror, the main distributor, Ingram Micro, has decided to cease distributing them. Now I need to find a new brand. Anyone got a brand of class 10 micro-SD they would care to recommend?

I might buy some up. The problem is if PBTech get them from Ingram Micro then once their stock dry up I wont be able to get them in NZ.

The other problem is I need to make sure I get the genuine article. There are a lot of counterfeit cards on the market.

Pretty sure it's legit no reason for them to sell counterfeit ones.

I'm sure they wouldn't sell counterfeits on purpose. It's weather I trust their suppliers.

Option 1 - order them from amazon

Option 2 - contact Samsung directly. They have a presence in NZ so they might be able to help or indicate alternative distro.

Option 3 - as others have suggested get them from pbtech

If you are worried about counterfeits - and it is reasonable that you should be - then you need to realise that even an official distro can get this wrong. Indeed, sometimes, the manufacturer's own direct outlet can carry counterfeits. There have been some very embarrassing episodes of that around the world. I am not trying to suggest that this is the case with the items that you are buying but it has happened so be prepared to check for yourself wherever you source these items.

When I searched Amazon, the first supplier that came up appears to be selling counterfeits. Not a good look.

When I search "samsung evo 64gb" on Amazon the first link is http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Class-Adapter-MB-MP64DA-AM/dp/B00IVPU7AO/ for $22 USD.

If you want to buy from Amazon just filter Amazon search on the left to Seller -> Amazon.com
