Apologies in advance if I am posting this in the incorrect area (scanned through the categories and couldn't work out where would be the best place to post it) but anyone have any experience with Metaname ? I've moved my blogging provider to someone else and I'm looking at a NZ domain reseller and Metaname seemed to tick all the boxes.

Have had no issues with metaname. They even do TOTP 2FA now, as well as all the usual stuff that should be bare minimums. (NS hosting, AAAA record support, DNSSEC etc)

Yeah, I've recently shifted most of my domain names over to Metaname. They include DNS redirection without the per domain charging other places have, which is really good.

I fully recommend Metaname.  I use them for all my domains and for my customers domains.

The have all the features you're likely to need and their support is outstanding.

All good - got it all sorted out, set up 2FA, I'm a happy lad now. I wasn't too sure since I had never heard of them before but then again I'm not all that tuned into the NZ IT scene.

They've been around since around 2009 and I've had domains with them for about that long too. Excellent provider! Also, you're supporting a local Christchurch based small business by having your domains with them :)

Slightly pricier than other options but if you ever need support Metaname are the guys to use. Top quality all around and everything you might need in a domain is supported.

I used to be a Metaname customer but transferred all our names to VentraIP, and then Synergy (The wholesale section of VentraIP).

VentraIP/Synergy are the only company with DNSSEC support who I have confidence in and would recommend.

Angelo (the owner of Ventra/Synergy) is a regular on Whirlpool (Australian equivalent to Geekzone) and seems to be well liked. Most importantly, I have found he personally takes accountability for issues, when they have happened.

I note you said you wanted a NZ registrar, but if you considered Ventra/Synergy, I don't think you will find a better registrar.

I don't know how domain companies exist, and also provide good support, as there is very little money in it and tiny margins when selling domains so cheaply. Guessing it is all about upselling other services on top.

Metaname is really good. When Cloudflare started supporting DNSSEC I tried using Metaname but they did not support the specific algorithm required by Cloudflare DNS. I asked their support and less than 30 minutes later they replied with a "try now" and it just worked. I have confidence they're as good as the one you suggest.

Have all my domains with metaname, DNS hosted with Cloudflare, and DNSSEC enabled for all of them 👍

+1 for Metaname, have more than 50 domains with them.

Outstanding support and features. They also have an API which we have linked with our Slack bot.
