I am working on designing an online shop.

Does anyone know a shopping cart piece of software that can be implemented on a CentOS server that is good?

Also one that has the ability to import an Excel file with all the details of the catologue in it would be good.

How about finding a shopping cart you like (like osCommerce) and then talking to someone like me about importing your data, then exporting it in the format that you require?

I was just seeing if someone knew of some fantastic program out there, but OSCommerce does seem to be very good, been having a bit of a play with it at the moment.

What I am looking at doing is having a Excel document which I can write everything up in, and then import that into OSCommerce. Is that possible?

For the initial setup I don't see why not, you may have to export the data into CSV format to input properly.  If you wanted to do this on a more regular basis (ie FTP an Excel document which would then be processed) you'd need a custom script written.

Gets alittle more tricky if the Excel file also has product images in it...
