Hi,

I use a Windows XP computer and log into a Windows 2003 terminal server.

When selecting files and/or folders, the font changes to bold or symbols.

When I try to take a screenshot of the problem, the text is fine.

Any idea how to fix this? Could it be a graphics driver problem?

Cheers,
Adrian

I would make sure your PC is running the lastest Remote Desktop version (it should be 6.0.x), updating the graphics drivers might be worthwhile also.  If nethier of those work updating the server's termal service version might be needed.

The remote desktop version should look something like this:

Also check the display settings tab in remote desktop:

Yes I have seen this issue intermittently over the last 6 months or so also.
It happens RDP'ing from XP to XP, or even Vista to XP.
Every now and then the filenames in the explorer window become corrupt.
Closing the whole explorer window and re-opening usually helps - just refreshing the explorer window does not.
I think it started happening after windows update updated the TS client to the 'new' version...

Anyone got a fix / clues?

Hi Ragnor,

Changing the colours to 32bit fixed the problem.

We are using version 6 of RDP client.

Cheers,
Adrian

I have had issues with colums like in utorrent and similar when RDPing into my vista machine - sometimes they would just all corrupt up and have wrong text in them. Disconnecting and reconnecting was the only way to get it right. The thing is, if I highlight the line, the right text would show, and if I resized the columns then the wrong things would change into other wrong things.
