Hi all,

I’d like to invite you all to the Auckland SQL Saturday, being held on the North Shore of Auckland, on Saturday, April 10th.

This is a FREE, full day of sessions covering real world scenarios and situations along with information relevant to current as well as future projects and positions.

Is this aimed solely at SQL solutions using Microsoft Technologies or do you also work with ANSI standard (and not so standard ;-)) implementations?

I don't mean to be rude, but the intro above seems a little like a marketing pitch for Microsoft SQL technologies.

I was invited to attend (being that we do use Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and all that jazz here on Geekzone), but won't be able to make it...

It's got me interested ... but given that I'm not even close to exploiting Microsoft SQL server tech, I don't know if whether what's discussed would be applicable for me

Primarly we are a group of MS SQL Server DBAs/DBA-Devs, but we have people from other technologies. I tried to get speakers for alternate platforms for this event, but unfortunaly they dropped out after initially agreeing.

But yes. Ths event seems to be pretty much (90%) biased for the MS platform.

That said. If you want to see something for alternate technologies, please don't hesitate to drop me a note (dave@aucklandsql.com)

There is more to days like this than just the sessions. There is the chance to meet others, talk with them and exchange contact info.

The levels for the day will range between 100 and 300 level. But if you have advanced questions, our speakers will not be afraid to answer. We've got 2 MVPs and a lot of poeple with years of industry experience.

And everybody gets a litre of Waiwera Mineral water
And Hell Pizza and/or Subway for lunch
Followed by Giapo Gelato, the best sorbet/ice-cream in New Zealand, for dessert
