What is the difference between a methodology and a method in terms of development?

Is for example, Agile a method that acts like an umbrella with methodologies below such as prototyping?

Thanks

I approach things a little differently from most, so I expect many people with have different views.

To me a [software] methodology is a set of process each containing one or more procedures.

A method is a singular process.

I don't view agile as being a method or methodology ( am slightly old school) but rather a set of techniques. However I do understand that there are now some agile styled methodologies around.

Prototyping to me is a technique. For example, I sometimes use a methodology called RAD (Rapid Application Development) which uses prototyping as a technique.
